We Value

More than just an Education
Worship lies at the heart of our school community. Staff members begin their day in staff worship where they commit their day to God and pray as a team. Students are also encouraged to start the day on a spiritual note as teachers lead their class in a devotional time each morning. Prayer and the development of a relationship with Jesus are an integral part of the school day. There are many opportunities for children to develop this relationship further, either with the school chaplain or by arrangement with members of the congregation the child worships with. 


An Education Based on Values
Today, children are constantly bombarded with messages that adversely affect their mental, emotional and spiritual development. They are conditioned to believe that “things” will provide happiness.

As a school community, we believe the ethos of our school should be built on a foundation of core values such as honesty, respect, happiness, responsibility, tolerance, love and acceptance. These values are introduced through our worship programs and then go on to permeate the whole curriculum. They are the basis for the social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and moral development of our students. We encourage our children to consider these values as they develop knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable them to develop into reflective learners who are able to build meaningful relationships and take responsibility for their own actions.

Behavioural Management
The “Golden Rule”... do to others as you would have them do to you (Luke 6:31), establishes a sense of mutual responsibly for being valued and respected.

Our approach to behaviour management involves the development of purposeful choices in children’s behaviour. Students are supported by a set of clear expectations and boundaries that are designed to develop ownership of Christian values and behaviour. Based on a restorative approach rather than a punitive response, our program develops an understanding of ownership of both choices and consequences. Through these measures we foster a safe campus that is supportive and inclusive.

We work closely with students who struggle with behavioural management issues, with a focus on putting in place a structure to support a change in behaviour. We also work closely with families to ensure they are involved and supportive of the actions and plans.
